Goodbye IMAlwaysHappy2Help – Hello Thinglish Lifestyle

September 25, 2016 in Internet Marketing Lifestyle by Perry

I set up this blog back in 2009-10 as a way to document what I was doing at a certain point in my life. However, now is the time to move on to a new chapter of my life and close IMAlwaysHappy2Help.com.

In 2008-9, around the time of the housing bubble burst, I decided to leave the UK for good and spend more time in Asia and live a semi-nomadic lifestyle.

I traveled to over 30 countries and got to know most pretty well, always choosing to take a path less traveled then hang out with other expats or live in a tourist bubble.

Before I left London I had a reasonably successful business that I could manage from my laptop and provide me with income to fund my lifestyle.

Actually when I first moved to Bangkok my lifestyle improved dramatically. I rented a condo by the Chao Phraya River for a firth of the price of a similar dwelling by the River Thames in London.

Food is abundant and cheap in Thailand and so is just about everything else, beers, clothes and taxi’s etc. So by reducing my overheads and freeing up more time, moving allowed me to concentrate on my business and build it up to something I could never have done back in England.

perry-thinglish-lifestyleAfter three years living in Bangkok and exploring Asia, I moved to Koh Chang Island with my partner, Katae. Koh Chang is Thailand’s second largest island (about the same size as Singapore) but probably the least inhabited due to its National Park status.

Around the same time I also incorporated my business in Singapore, so no going back to the old country for me.

18 months ago I married the love of my life and we have recently bought a large plot of land in Trat province. We are now developing this plot into a permaculture food forest and building a house from 5 shipping containers.

So as I’m no longer living what could be remotely called a digital nomad lifestyle, this will be my last post here.

I now have a beautiful wife, live rent and debt free on our own land that within the next few years will provide us with an abundance of fresh and organic food. I’ve finally found the freedom I was always looking for that being a digital nomad couldn’t quite live up to.

If you want to see what an old digital nomad does after he hangs up his backpack, visit my wife and I’s new blog Thinglish Lifestyle. It will be great to see you there and as always, I’m always happy to help.

Goodbye IMAlwaysHappy2Help – Hello Thinglish Lifestyle

Island Life – Picture Perfect Laptop Lifestyle

April 27, 2014 in Internet Marketing Lifestyle, Koh Chang by Perry Stevens

Laptop Lifestyle - Working on a TanI’ve been off the radar lately but I’ve not disappeared entirely. I have just been busy with other multiple projects and never found the time to get back on my blog.

Koh Chang

When I first started this journey in South East Asia I was on the island of Koh Chang. One of my favorite place in the whole world. For the last three years I’ve been living in Bangkok but for some time I’ve wanted to escape the city (even though I have had a mini break every couple of months). I love Bangkok and it’s an easy place to live and travel from. I can generally be at an international airport between 30 and sixty minutes and fly to Oz, Singapore, Bali, HCMC or any other of my favorite destinations.

However the appeal to go out and party like I used to and with the current political crisis lurching towards civil ward, I thought it made for the perfect time to get out the city and get back to natural and slower pace of life. So here I am again, where it all started on Koh Chang, elephant island.

I’ve also recently incorporated my business in Singapore for better tax efficiency and let’s face it, it’s only a 2 hour flight there and not a full day getting back to the grey, old UK. So moving homes and moving a business has kept me busy (Aren’t the the two most stressful things you can do?). I’ve also teamed up with one of my company managers to start another business and we are spending all our time ‘out of work hours’ setting that up. I won’t say anything about it here for now but it’s a very exciting project and one that I have dreamed about for a long time.

Are You Living the Laptop Lifestyle? IM Always Happy 2 Help!

So now I’m setting up a comfortable home with my girlfriend and looking to purchase some land on the island to build our dream home, get off-grid and produce our own food. We have already started planting on a small scale and hope to soon taste the fruits of our labor. Things grow fast in this tropical climate! So watch out for gardening tips and building a sustainable home here soon.

With that being said, it’s time to go and water the plants. I’m in domestic bliss!

Happy Happy New Year

January 5, 2014 in Internet Marketing Lifestyle by Perry Stevens

Happy New Year or ‘Suk san wan pii mai’ to all our lovely Thai readers.

We just got back from a weeks holiday in paradise and I wanted to write a blog to round up last year and look at the future. 2013 was quite a year both professionally and personally for me. I love to travel and was fortunate to visit many beautiful Thai islands for mini breaks like my favorite Koh Chang, and Koh Samet as well as new places like Koh Si Chang, Koh Tao and Ko Nang Yuan. I also had longer trips combining business with pleasure in the UK, Malaysia, Bali, Laos and Australia.

Happy New Year Living the DreamRunning a business from my Mac Book and sometime only my Galaxy S4 smartphone gives me so much freedom even I sometimes have to pinch myself to make sure I’m not dreaming.

One of the benefits of traveling is it opens you up to a new way of thinking. I enjoy dropping in and experiencing strange new worlds and cultures. There is a lot to learn from people who have had a totally different education, life experiences, challenges and obstacles to overcome. But the one universal unifying thing that I’ve noticed that binds us all together is we are all searching for something that makes us happy.

This year my happiness levels rose to a new high when I first met my girlfriend. I used to travel alone but it’s more fun sharing those beautiful and romantic sunsets with someone you love than taking that ‘selfie’ of ‘the moment’!

Business has also grown experientially this year after flying back to the UK in April and breaking up ‘the partnership’. Now I’m the CEO and back in charge of what I set out to do with my company before I brought a partner on board. This ‘split’ was traumatic at the time but has proved to be the most positive experience of the year. I would advice anyone in business to stick to his or her gut instinct, if it doesn’t feel right, do something about it before the negativity sets in.

Due to my new found happiness, I’ve been posting a lot more photos online from exotic locations and a client recently asked me ‘How does one get a life like yours? The truth is it’s quite easy to get a life like mine. I really am ‘Joe Schmoe’. Even though I’m seen in beautiful places with a beautiful partner, the reality is it cost me less than half the price to live this life than it did when I lived in London. I also have very limited overheads when it comes to an office and staffing. The perceived cost of ‘living the dream’ of my Internet marketing Lifestyle and the reality are two very different things.

With that being said, an old friend reached out to me a couple of days ago, as he wants to escape the rat race and start a new life in Thailand. We are going to catch up on Skype later today and go through the options. Shortly I will be writing a guide to ‘Living in Thailand’ and lay out from my personal experience what you need to do and more importantly what not to do.

Another high point for 2013 (well two actually) was meeting one of my oldest clients and collaborators personally. The first was ‘Dr. P’ from Los Angeles USA who decided to make Thailand her winter vacation with her husband and the second was my main man for graphics and art direction from Pakistan who actually joined my friends and I for my birthday dinner. The Internet has been instrument in allowing us to work new business models that were not available to us ten years ago and it still amazes me the global/local connections we can freely make today from all corners of the globe.

I also started sponsoring a bright young man in northern Thailand and implemented a Good 2 Give policy for the company. I want to expand on this and help even more disadvantage youngsters and give them the confidence and ability to change their lives for the better through education and travel.

So although last year was simply amazing, I know 2014 has the potential to be even better.  The only way I can do that is by delivering more happiness to my clients and building the business by adding more services. This has been my vision and this year it will come to fruition.

What were your highlights of last year and your ambitions for 2014, I’d love to know. Share them with us in the comments section below and have a beautiful and prosperous new year!

Choosing A Job You Like

December 26, 2013 in Internet Marketing Lifestyle, Marketing Quotes by Perry Stevens

suitable job
“Choose a job that you like, and you will never have to work a day in your life.”
Confucius, a Chinese teacher, editor, politician, and philosopher.

Some people go into a job hunt thinking that they have absolutely no control over the job that they might end up getting in the end. Most people are easy to jump at the job that has the best financial opportunity regardless of the type of work that they are given. It’s much more important to look into an occupation that can present you with more freedom, or something that you find more interesting.

Less Stressful

We spend a large amount of our waking hours sitting at a desk or sitting at work. Although a 40 hour week doesn’t sound like much in the grand scheme of things, many of us work well and above these hours and when we consider working this much over a lifetime these hours can really add up. This is why enjoying the time that you spend working is very important. There are bound to be some stressful days in any job that you take on but regularly experiencing stress or discomfort in the workplace can lead to health concerns and severely impact your quality of life.

I love what I do for a living so 99% of the time it really doesn’t feel like work. Another big plus point for me is the freedom my live/work lifestyle affords me. I enjoy lots of mini holidays, work from beautiful resorts, by the pool or in my pants in my condo!: )

Take Your Options

If you are already stuck in a job where you feel trapped or you are experiencing an abnormal amount of stress every single day, it’s very important to look into the options you have. We live in a very exciting time. Working online is now easier than ever before and you have resources available to you such as online freelancing websites, living the Internet marketing lifestyle or even becoming an entrepreneur to eventually attain the freedom of being able to work on a beach. You can start small and begin working part-time to check out some of these options for yourself but it is important to note that selecting a job you enjoy doing is a great way that you can get the most out of life and the hours that you work as well as achieve financial security.

Are You Living Your Internet Marketing Lifestyle?

November 14, 2013 in Guest Posts, Internet Marketing Lifestyle by Perry

When meeting new people, the inevitable question soon pops up “What do you do?” This happened only last night in the Gold Coast Airport departure lounge when I was waiting to board a plane to Kuala Lumpa. I of course have many answers to this question depending on who’s asking, but for those who really want to know we often end up in a long discussion about the benefits of the Internet Lifestyle. Many of these people express to me that they to would love to have the freedom I dearly love and to live a laptop lifestyle but few take the action and make it happen. I really don’t know why, so I recently put the word out in the IM Lifestyle community and asked the question “What barriers deter people from living the Internet Marketing Lifestyle? The responses make interesting reading.

Here’s what some had to say:

Nathaniell Brenes – One More Cup of Coffee

Nathaniel BrenesNo doubt there’s lots of hype around the “Internet marketing lifestyle“, and there are many ways to get there. Some of them are practical, some of them not. Whatever path you choose to make money on the Internet or leverage online business to work from home, there are 3 common barriers I see to actually achieving ones goals.

1) Managing Expectations

Unfortunately there are lots of programs, books, videos, networks, blogs, websites and any other form of information out there that have promoted the idea that an Internet business can be automated. There are some parts of the business that give an illusion of automation, but very often there is a whole lot of hard work sitting behind the ‘system’ that is set in place.

And even then, most of what is done behind the scenes of a great Internet business is not automated. It’s outsourced. Simply said, you need to be WORKING on your business. If you are not, you need to hire someone to do it for you.

Money comes from customers, and customers want stuff. They want products, they want information, and they want to get their moneys worth. Someone has to deliver it.

The other huge misconception with expectations is how much and how fast you can make money. I honestly don’t know why people turn to the internet as a last resort to make money. I get emails almost weekly from folks saying that they don’t have a job, are in debt, have bills to pay, and need to start making money by the end of the month.

Sorry, but the Internet will not solve your money problems by the end of the month. Develop a 6 month plan, then revamp and look another year into the future. You can do a lot in a year. You can’t do jack in two weeks.

2) Independent Work

Another huge thing that’s holding people back from even starting their journey towards that glorious first internet payday is, well, not even getting started. Most of what you need to know about how to set up your business is available online, and available for free. It’s easier than ever to reach the experts, talk to them, ask them questions, and pick away at the huge bank of knowledge you’ll need to get things moving.

I recently wrote a review about a scammy product, warning folks to stay away from it. Within the body of the review I explained very clearly that this was not a product I recommended, but linked to legit ones where visitors could start their training. I like to related blog posts, and even outlined the basics of how I make money with my own blogs.

But I still get comments like these:Living the Internet Marketing Lifestyle

And when I receive these, it’s very obvious that they not only did not read the review in detail, they didn’t follow any links, and they didn’t read any of the other comments.

These visitors were looking for a simple answer. They want me to say, “Yes, here is the product. It’s free. And you will start making money by the end of the week. No previous skills necessary. Full automated, $5,000 per week.”

I can’t help you if you can’t even read the information that’s sitting in front of you.

3) Commitment

The biggest factor preventing internet entrepreneurs from realizing their dreams is commitment. Like anything else, it takes time to get your bearings and become good at what you do. As mentioned in the “manage expectations” topic from above, people set goals of weeks and months, when they should be setting goals of years and decades.

I see people make comments like, “I will try it for a month, and if it doesn’t work, I know it’s a scam”.

But how do you learn to play an instrument?

By that definition, guitars are a scam. Try for a month, and I guarantee you won’t be able to play anything well.

And foreign languages are a scam too. Try learning one for a few hours per day for 4 weeks and you will be seriously disappointed.

There are many paths to success. Pick one, and stick with it. Hone your craft, better yourself, and above all, don’t quit. You never know when success is right around the corner, and if you quit today, you’ll never know if tomorrow was going to be your first breakthrough.

A contribution by Nathaniell Brenes of One More Cup of Coffee fame. He has a great website and videos and has a lot of experience teaching people how to start making money online. I recommend you check out his Youtube Channel here and jump right in!

Richard Marriott – Clambr

Richard Marriott1. Fear of Failure

You will fail more times than you win in life, but it’s the ability to get up and try again that will eventually lead your to success.

Too many people are deterred from living the Internet marketing lifestyle simply because they are afraid. Some are not just afraid of trying, but even afraid of succeeding. If you’re reading this post you must want to live the dream and you probably also know how to build a profitable lifestyle online, the question is what’s stopping you?

If it is fear that’s holding you back and nothing else, learn to confront it and deal with it. It’s good to be afraid and that will drive you to push towards your goals, but you should never let fear become so dominating that it literally stops you dead in your tracks. After all, fear is just a human emotion. Once you realise this, and how trivial it is, you can learn to laugh it off and move forward.

2. Social Conditioning

So you want to take the leap into the IM lifestyle but everyone around you is telling you otherwise – “but what about your career?”, “why don’t you just change jobs?”.

Society conditions us to follow by its rules, creating a flock of sheep rather than a pack of wolves. The sheep will murmur and baahh to keep you back in the pen. The thought of not having stable employment scares them and they will constantly warn you against quitting the 9 to 5 and living the Internet marketing dream because life outside the pen frightens them.

Sheep live out their days in a closed off, protected environment, with a steady flow of food and shelter and will stay there until they die. They are happy with a stable pay check and know nothing of the freedom the outside world offers. Their 2 week holiday allowance is enough for them. They don’t yearn for more.

Wolves can go for days without eating. They walk for miles, encounter many dangers, fight off other wolves and must adapt to survive. They live a fulfilling life and will grow their territory by the more they pursue.

My advice is to ignore the sheep. They will do nothing but cloud your mind with doubt and negativity. Seek advice from wolves. They don’t live behind fences. They are free and know it’s possible and far more fulfilling to live life out of the pen.

3. Too Much Conflicting Information

There are two types of advice on the Internet: The advice that will help your dreams come true, and the advice that will crush them.

When I started out looking for ways to make money online I was conned by a number of “get rich quick” schemes and almost gave up on the idea that building a comfortable lifestyle online was even possible. It’s easy to lose sight of how achievable the Internet marketing lifestyle actually is and if you go down the wrong path you will be doomed from the start.

The key is to trust in yourself, not in others to provide a quick and easy solution. You must create your own empire and seek information that will help you build something for yourself.

Don’t get distracted by “get rich quick” schemes. Block anything like that out of your mind. Learn to ignore it and focus on what you should be doing:

Building an authority site in a niche you can write about, love and has a masses of wallet out buyers ready to both learn from you and buy from you.

That’s it. It’s no magical formula, but it works.

Richard Marriott at the time of writing, is holed up in a secret French Alps location building a $9k a month authority site in 90 days.

Tom Coleman – MobiDigital

Tom ColemanMindset

The 1st and most important thing for me is mindset as most people are conditioned from a young age that they have to get a 9-5 job, so it is very hard to break free from that type of thinking that it is possible to make a full time income from anywhere in the world with an internet connection. It’s even harder When everyone else around you has the same conditioning too.

Risk Factor

2nd would be the risk factor. Most people are too comfortable in there current situation and too afraid to step outside the comfort zone and take a risk.

Self Doubt

3rd is self doubt and negative thinking. You need to train your mind to focus on the solution instead of the problem or focus on the positive outcomes rather than the negative outcomes. Focus on success and living the lifestyle you want to live instead of focusing on failure.

Tom Coleman is is an Australian who likes a good walkabout. Currently CEO of Mobidigital.com.au/ a Google Adwords and re-marketing company.

Fear

1: I do not think the problem is a new one. It is basically the same dilemma as any employed individual faces, whether it be online or offline – the fear of going it alone and giving up the reliance of a set regular income. Sure, working online gives you a lot of freedom, when you make it work, but the bottom line remains the same – some people are willing to take the plunge were others are not. Why? Next point….

Time

2: Maybe current responsibilities i.e. not having the time due to employment arrangements and family commitments. Maybe some people are not willing to embark on a long term transitional or trial period of the business idea (essential) and not willing to sacrifice the necessary time for what is still the main ingredient of success (online or offline) – hard work.

This is my eighth year working in online marketing and I still have a constant stream of projects under development, knowing that not all of them will enjoy the success that I originally envisaged. While I still hold a number of position 1 and page 1 site rankings, the reality is that few of us can really rely on just one income stream to fuel an online lifestyle, which may discourage some, so be prepared to have broad shoulders and keep developing quality new ideas in niche areas. If one works, give yourself a pat on the back and enjoy what you’ve worked for, but don’t become complacent. Whole workforce’s have been laid off over night just because of algorithm changes. Similarly, relying on a large social following is a mistake, many of those people may already have the current product or service you are marketing. So to have all your eggs in one basket is never a good idea, but especially online!

The Plunge

3: The continuing increase in competition in all online sectors is understandably going to make people think twice about ‘the plunge’. This together with Google’s recent pandering to big corporates in the hope that they will drive more people to their Adword platform – will no doubt been seen as a possible barrier when people are researching their market. On a positive note, us publishers can greatly improve our chances of success, if we aim towards what Google still holds above all else – original content via an engaging site.

The reality in my opinion is that more and more people are taking ‘the plunge’ to some degree and for those people it’s not only the hard work ingredient that they must bring to the table – but a mixture of constant research and development in an ever-changing online landscape which, despite the evolution and importance of social media, still boils down to the domination of Google search and how it favors your online aspirations. Oh and again, point number 1! : )

Brigham Dallas – Fat Boys’ Launch Pad

Brigham Dallas - Internet LifestyleLiving abroad barriers:

a) – The Unknown – people fear it. We embrace it. Adventure, the idea of exploring outweighs the danger of the unknown and fear of imperfect expectations of the future.

b) Friends and family connections – we give up a lot living abroad – the comfort of seeing a family daily or being close to those we currently care about. my friends circle has grown every time i move countries though.

c) Cost – this is the one that people think they can’t overcome… how on earth do you live abroad – it’s so costly? The truth? I’ve spent less on my lifestyle than you do on yours! imagine how much cheaper life would be if you didn’t have to pay $80 phone bills monthly, $1k house bill, $500 car payments, $250 in gas bills, and $15 every time you go out to eat. The fact is, 3rd world countries are cheap and if you have the luxury to work from your computer, you can pick the best and cheapest places to live.

d) Instability of the Region – What if i get sick overseas? What if i get in trouble? True. You could get injured, sick, abducted like on the movie taken, or thrown in prison for marijuana smoking in Malaysia (that’s would be worse than a horror movie!). But the truth is you could also get injured, sick, hit by a car, and shot in your backyard. Be careful, learn street smarts and don’t push yourself too hard at first. If the food looks shady, don’t eat it, don’t walk down a dark alley alone if you can avoid it and be constantly aware of your surroundings. Risk is always there, even at your own home, but intelligence mitigates some of the risk. And my experience has been that the benefits way outweigh the risks.

Barriers aside, traveling and learning from talented and passionate people from around the world has been the greatest education I could have acquired. You being one of them Perry, thanks for teaching me what I needed to get started on my career path in life.

What barriers deter people from living the Internet Marketing Lifestyle?

Success Means Only Doing What You Do Well, Letting Someone Else Do The Rest

November 14, 2013 in Internet Marketing Lifestyle by Perry Stevens

success

When starting a business online there are many new entrepreneurs to try to take on too much too fast. An excellent feature of the online lifestyle and working online, is that there are experts at your fingertips all of the time. There are millions of freelancers that can be found online each with their own individual skill set and this is extremely valuable if you are trying to get a business off of the ground, or you are trying to offer a service online.

One of the first realizations as a budding business owner or entrepreneur is that you can’t and shouldn’t try to do everything on your own. Sir Richard Branson runs multiple companies from Virgin Airlines, Virgin Trains and Virgin Mobile but he doesn’t fly his planes, drive his trains or man the call centers. He hire’s professionals to do that so he can grow and scale his business.

By checking the market for freelancers who have reliable skills to your business, you can work to fill in any gaps as a business owner or entrepreneur. This way you can focus on all of the aspects of your business that you feel that you can handle well, or that you feel that you are an expert on. The remaining pieces of your business can then be filled by a freelancer.

A prime example of this could be if you are a business who has just launched a new product. Offering up Internet marketing opportunities with commissions for Internet marketers is an excellent way that you can see a variety of advertising material produced for your product without having to spend the time creating it yourself. Creating advertising can take time, and making sure that your advertising is converting is something that takes even more time. The excellent part of Internet marketing is that quite a lot of the work is taken out of the hands of the business owner. They simply were to receive sales and pay out commissions as they receive their money. Internet marketers are reimbursed for their time and effort that is spent on advertising through these commission dollars and both parties end up making money. This is a prime example of how freelancers and online workers can make a difference with your online business.

You’re Still A Rat If You Win Rat Race

October 31, 2013 in Internet Marketing Lifestyle, Marketing Quotes by Perry Stevens

The Problem With The Rat Race Is That Even If You Win, You’re Still A Ratrat race

“The problem with the rat race is that even if you win, you’re still a rat.”Lilly Tomlin, American actress, comedian, writer, and producer.

The 9-to-5 grind is something that enslaves millions of people across the world. There are so many people that are wrapped up in corporations, working for other people and squandering their creativity each and every day. The true path to freedom in the workplace comes when you are ready to surrender yourself from working for a company and finally going out and making opportunities for yourself. It is a difficult thing to put yourself out there, but you will be rewarded by having more flexibility and an opportunity to possibly make more money by doing something that you love. When you are doing something that you love, money isn’t such a motivational factor, you’ll find other things that are more rewarding and fulfilling.

Earlier this month I was in Australia for a few weeks, visiting friends and seeing the sights in Brisbane, Newcastle and Sydney. I also went on a walkabout on Frazer Island. I even flew round the island taking off and landing from the beach that also serves as the islands main road… tides permitting! During this time my business kept on rocking and on my day of departure I got confirmation of a new business deal, my companies biggest to date.

I picked up a book at the Gold Coast Airport to read on my flight to Malaysia called The 4-Hour Work Week by Timothy Ferriss. I recommend you get a copy of it if you are looking to leave the rat race or work remotely from your office. It’s jammed packed with useful, practical advice. I know I can save a few extra hours a day by changing the way I work to give me even greater freedom.

The Purpose of Working

So many people experience stress in their jobs but will carry on working because of the financial incentive that it gets them. If you work at a job long enough there’s a good chance that you will get promoted and while this leads to more responsibility, you are also rewarded with a better financial incentive. Supposedly winning the rat race would mean achieving the status of the head of a company, but this only happens to a very small percentage of people. By going it alone you instantly become the head of your own company and you’re presented with all of the freedom you want depending when, where and with who you want to work with.

Find your Freedom

By working as a freelancer, entering into the Internet marketing lifestyle, or starting your own business you can work at attaining the type of freedom that most people in the working world can only dream of. The kind of freedom that allows you to work from the beach and run your business from anywhere in the world. While it is a large sacrifice to give up a well-paying job to pursue a dream as a freelancer, or to start a business on your own, it’s important to remember that you can take small steps first. Researching and beginning these options (reading the 4-Hour Work Week is a good place to start) when you are still working will allow you to have financial security until you’re ready to support yourself and work on your own terms when and where your heart desires.

The Problem With The Rat Race Is That Even If You Win, You’re Still A Rat

Entrepreneurship – Fortune Favors the Brave

October 17, 2013 in Internet Marketing Lifestyle by Perry Stevens

Entrepreneurship

“Entrepreneurship is living a few years of your life like most people won’t so you can spend the rest of your life like most people can’t.”

You have probably heard or seen a variety of promotional material talking about working from the beach or the financial freedom associated with entrepreneurship or starting your own business. What many of these promotional materials fail to mention is the early start up of the business and the amount of work that it takes to actually become a successful entrepreneur. Some even go as far as trying to sell a ‘magic button’ but save your money, there are no push buttons solutions to starting a new venture online. The truth is most people are unwilling to roll up their sleeves, get on their bike or take this risks to complete all of the work it takes in order to eventually experience these freedoms.

One person who isn’t afraid of a little hard work is Richard Marriott. I met Richard online when he reached out to me from China for a blog post he was writing about Local SEO. He is now holed up in the French Alps on his latest entrepreneurial adventure with nothing much more than a donkey and a girl in a Spar shop for distraction. (I’m unaware if the Donkey speaks English or indeed if Richard speaks Donkey) To follow Richards on his entrepreneurial journey, click here. I’m sure you’ll get inspired and learn something and I’m sure he’d like to hear your words of support, remember he’s only got a donkey to talk to!

If you have an idea, or skills that you can use to work online it can be big risk to take these skills away from your existing employment and financial security. This is why many people begin to start working on their entrepreneurial endeavors as a part-time venture before jumping in fully. This can mean long hours far beyond your existing work week and for these reasons a lot of people simply avoid pursuing entrepreneurship. It’s easier to go to the pub, crash in front of the TV or just relax. My advice would be to get ‘Rock n’ Roll’ and throw your TV out the window. It’s a complete time suck and you don’t need it or will miss it!

Fortune Favors the Brave

In the best case scenario you can begin an entrepreneurial venture while you are unemployed and have full-time hours to commit to it. This is what happened a lot when the US and Europe experienced a sudden rise in unemployment as a result of the recession (and continued depression… don’t get me started!). Many entrepreneurs were creating start-ups and working online to address the need for new employment and to fix the economy without having to resort to chasing the minimal amount of jobs that were available. Still, there were a vast majority that held out to find work with a company that was hiring. Well good luck to them, the situation isn’t getting better any time soon, so now is as good time as any to get started down your entrepreneurial path.

Entrepreneurship can eventually allow you to find your way into the freedom of being able to work from the beach, or set your own hours, but it takes real work to get to this point. This is why so many start-ups and online businesses fail so quickly. New business owners are expecting freedom right away and are unmotivated to continue without seeing financial benefits and flexible hours in their near future. No one said it was going to be easy and if it was, everyone would be doing it. And where would the fun be in that? But with a little guidance, perseverance and the right attitude you can and will make it.

I’ll see you on the beach!

Entrepreneurship Is Living A Few Years Of Your Life Like Most People Won’t

Freedom

February 2, 2013 in Internet Marketing Lifestyle by Perry Stevens

Internet Marketing Lifestyle=FreedomFreedom, what does the word mean to you? For me freedom is the biggest motivational factor that gets me up in the morning eager to experience a brand new day full of endless possibilities. Freedom for me is a value I hold above all others.

I set my business up with freedom built into it. What I mean by this is when I was looking to start a new company it had to give me the flexibility to live and work where I want and when I want. Of course we are living in a golden age of communication that allows us to do just that. A privilege not afforded to my parents or even to us even 5 years ago. Such is the speed of new technologies available to us.

Today I run a successful local search marketing company and makes three figures a year. I could make a lot more but then it would be like a ‘proper’ job and who wants one of those? Not me Sir! I refuse to grow up and instead live a life many only dream off. I live in Asia by choice having left the cold, grey city of London behind over two years ago.

Today I’m writing this blog post from my smartphone (Galaxy S3) with a WordPress app while sat in The Geographic cafe in Malaka, Malaysia. If you ever find or loose yourself here try the sour plum drink. Its got to be the most refreshing and healthy drink you can have in this heat!

In the next few days I will travel back up to the amazing Malaysian capital city of Kuala Lumpa before flying back to Bangkok Thailand a few days later. Then we’ve planned a weekend at the exclusive Royal Cliff Hotel in Pattaya. All the time I’m I’m traveling and experiencing new cultures, meeting interesting people and seeing the wonders this world has to offer us, Im in total contact with my clients, virtual staff and associates and of course making money.

I tell you all this not to brag but to open your mind to your own possibilities of a freer lifestyle only the Internet can bring. Let’s face it, if I can do it, so can YOU!

If you value your freedom and want to earn money from home, by working from the beach a few hours a day or traveling on paths less traveled you need to start investing in your future and learn Internet marketing strategies that really work.

Benefits of the Internet Marketing Lifestyle

An Internet marketing lifestyle will free you from the modern slavery we are all born and conditioned to live in. You leave school with a limited knowledge and a one world view. You go to university and leave with a huge debt. You get a job if you are lucky (depends how you look at it) but never earn enough or have the time to enjoy traveling, your hobbies, write that book or spend time with your family. You get more into debt living in a house the bank owns, maybe drive a car the bank owns or even have to take a second job to support your family. Sound familiar? Working for ‘the man’ you are trapped as a slave wage trading hours for dollars.
Its time to break free and enjoy your freedom, but how do you start and begin to learn the knowledge that you can build into a successful and rewarding business helping others on the way?

Come back to this site and read how I built a business up from ground zero that in just a few short years allows me to live the dream. Of course I made many mistakes on the way and learned by sheer bloody mindedness. You will be able to learn from my mistakes and my successes and have a business up and running in a matter of months so you too will be able to start living your own Internet marketing lifestyle.
